Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has introduced a new generation of its Blade Battery technology as the company seeks to strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market. The announcement marks BYD’s first major battery upgrade in several years and reflects the intense competition among automakers in China’s expanding EV sector. With domestic demand becoming more competitive and new technologies reshaping the industry, BYD is focusing on faster charging capabilities and longer driving ranges to attract consumers and regain momentum in its home market.
The updated Blade Battery is designed to dramatically reduce charging time while improving performance under challenging conditions. According to company executives, the new system can charge from roughly twenty percent to nearly full capacity in less than twelve minutes, even in extremely cold temperatures.
