McEasy: Driving Indonesia’s Logistics into the Future

As Indonesia’s logistics and transportation industry races to keep up with the nation’s digital economy, one company is taking the lead in turning fleets into intelligent systems. McEasy, a logistics management platform based in Surabaya, is redefining how vehicles are tracked, monitored, and optimized. Behind much of this innovation stands Grady Kusmulyadi, the company’s Chief Product Officer, whose focus on integrating artificial intelligence and data analytics has transformed how Indonesia moves goods.
A Journey from Strategy to Impact
When Kusmulyadi joined McEasy in January 2022 as Head of Growth Strategy, the company was already known for its digital fleet management tools. What it needed was a way to push beyond basic tracking and create smarter, safer, and more connected logistics networks. Drawing from his experience in data-driven product strategy, Kusmulyadi set out to combine advanced hardware with intelligent software to meet the evolving demands of logistics operators.
Within two years, his efforts paid off. McEasy’s solutions now go far beyond simple GPS tracking. The company has introduced AI-powered cameras, predictive analytics, and integrated dashboards that help fleet owners reduce accidents, improve driver accountability, and optimize routes in real time. Under Kusmulyadi’s leadership, McEasy has evolved from a fleet monitoring service into a comprehensive logistics intelligence platform.
Reinventing Fleet Management
At the core of McEasy’s innovation is its Vehicle Smart Management System (VSMS), which connects vehicles through IoT-enabled devices and sensors. These systems collect data on speed, fuel consumption, driver behavior, and maintenance status, turning every vehicle into a data source. Fleet operators can view all of this information through a centralized interface, allowing them to manage large networks of trucks or delivery vans with precision.
The integration of AI cameratechnology represents one of the company’s biggest breakthroughs. The cameras detect risky driving behaviors such as drowsiness, tailgating, or distracted driving and alert both the driver and the control center in real time. This not only enhances safety but also reduces costs related to accidents and insurance claims. The technology also helps companies comply with Indonesia’s growing emphasis on transport safety regulations.
McEasy’s platform extends into logistics planning and cold-chain management. Companies can track perishable goods, monitor temperature fluctuations, and maintain delivery efficiency even in challenging road conditions. The end goal is simple: to make logistics more transparent, secure, and efficient across one of the world’s most geographically complex nations.
Serving the Backbone of the Economy
McEasy’s growth reflects the central role of logistics in Indonesia’s economic development. The company now serves more than 1,500 clients, including prominent names such as state-owned oil giant Pertamina and major logistics firm JNE. Its systems are used across industries ranging from fuel distribution and e-commerce to manufacturing and food delivery.
For a country spread across thousands of islands, reliable logistics is not just a business need but an economic lifeline. McEasy’s platform helps bridge that logistical divide by giving operators real-time visibility across fleets that might be separated by hundreds of kilometers.
Kusmulyadi describes the mission as building “a digital nervous system” for Indonesia’s transport sector, a system where vehicles, depots, and control centers communicate seamlessly to ensure efficiency and safety.
Growth and Investment
In June 2024, McEasy extended its Series A funding round to 11 million US dollars, following a fresh investment from Granite Asia. The new capital was built on its 6.5 million dollar raise in 2022, led by East Ventures, one of Indonesia’s leading venture firms. The funding is being directed toward expanding the company’s data infrastructure, strengthening its AI systems, and scaling operations to reach more small and mid-sized fleet operators.
The company’s growing investor confidence reflects a broader trend in Southeast Asia, where logistics technology startups are attracting attention for their potential to solve inefficiencies in fragmented supply chains. McEasy’s focus on safety and analytics gives it an edge in a market that increasingly values smart data as much as physical delivery speed.
The Road Ahead
Looking forward, McEasy is exploring predictive maintenance tools that will alert operators before vehicle components fail, reducing downtime and extending fleet life. It also plans to expand across Southeast Asia, where similar challenges in logistics infrastructure create opportunities for scalable technology.
For Grady Kusmulyadi, the mission remains clear to make mobility smarter and safer through technology. What began as a role in strategy has evolved into a movement transforming how Indonesia moves. By turning fleets into data-driven assets, McEasy is proving that the future of logistics lies not only in wheels and roads but in intelligence and insight.
